'Gathering' Susie MacMurray at Tatton Park

Susie MacMurray has just created a site-specific work called ‘Gathering’ for an exhibition at Tatton Park. Featuring around 4,000 velvet and barbed wire elements that cascade into the staircase hall, the piece has been partly inspired by a costume ball held at the mansion in 1897, in which the hostess wore red velvet. The sculpture also explores love and memory, support and care, loss and grief.

‘Gathering’ has been commissioned by Art Fair Cheshire and will be on display at Tatton until the 6th October. Elements from the work are available to buy now, with all money raised going directly to East Cheshire Hospice. Please follow the link below to purchase an element from 'Gathering':
