Lisa Traxler is a contemporary artist based on the Isle of Wight, UK. Working across a range of media including painting and sculpture, her award-winning art addresses an ongoing fascination with history and our sense of place from an architectural perspective. Traxler's unique approach to colour and spacial configuration is informed by her background as a fashion editor and costume designer.
Traxler has been the recipient of a number of awards and has exhibited in solo and group exhibitions throughout the UK and Europe. Her work is held in both public and private collections. Her recent Arts Council England Awards enabled the solo exhibition, ‘Blast Wall’ at The Foundry Gallery, London, 2021 and ‘Dazzle + Disrupt’ West Gallery, Quay Arts, Isle of Wight, 2021, enriching her practice and empowering new bodies of work and a fuller analysis of her unique slotted sculptures. As the recipient of the Southampton City Open Exhibition, her solo exhibition ‘Time Traveller’ opened at Southampton City Art Gallery, 2022.
