Natural materials are often Charlotte Mayer's medium of choice for the models of her sculptures, employing reeds, wood, and even apple peel dipped in wax, to create bronze works that beautifully emanate their natural origins, and stand with strength and poise, enhancing the space around them. 'Rondel' embodies all the light and air that graces Mayer's larger bronze sculptures (small and large ‘Rondo’), and though diminutive in size its silver medium packs as much impact as its older siblings.
